The Sun Project

One day in class our teacher said that we had to do a project over a star. I chose the Sun. I have always liked the Sun. Come on who wouldn’t  it provides us light, energy, and warmth. So I started by getting a sphere ball made out of foam, then I had to find out facts about the Sun. I found out that there are a lot of interesting stuff about the Sun. Like the age of the Sun is 4.6 billion years old  that is really old, also the diameter is 1.4 million kilometers. An H-R diagram helps tell how hot stars are,  how bright they shine, the color of the stars, and how big , also old they are. Also the Sun has layers who knew! The surface layer is the photosphere which gives off most the light. The atmosphere of the Sun also has layers the innermost layer is the chromosphere.  The outermost layer is called the corona, also it is the largest layer. It extends millions of kilometers into space. So I started by getting yellow paint and painting the foam ball( cause the actual color of the Sun is yellow not orange). Then i got some tulle for the atmosphere. I also put some glow in the dark substance on the Suns surface for the brightness of the Sun. I thought I’d left something out, so I went back on the computer. Guess what I did the sunspots( they are dark spots on the Sun’s surface), and solar prominences( appear as huge, reddish loops of gas above the surface). Also there are solar flares(which are sudden explosions on the Sun’s surface). So for the sunspots I used a black sharpie, and for the solar prominences i used pieces of pipe cleaners and stuck them in the Sun. Also for the solar flares I used some ribbon that I curled( with scissors).

THE END!
